HHS developed Healthy People 2020 via a collaborative process that drew on experience and input throughout multiple Federal agencies, state and native governments, academia, business, group and professional organizations, and members of the public. In order to ensure a robust system of monitoring and evaluation as well as authorities transparency and accountability, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation has designed a Health System Tracking Project. The Health System Tracking Project is a dynamic, web-based software that shows information on key well being indicators, compiled from throughout federal sources, along with descriptions of the measures and hyperlinks to information sources. Good metrics will permit policymakers, suppliers and the basic public to watch modifications in health care quality, cost and access and allow them to know the consequences of these changes across the well being care system.
